St Andrew's WI
November 2017
This month’s meeting was hosted by President Marion Caudwell who welcomed both members and visitors.
Our speakers this month were Sandy Edney and Dr James Allenby from the Make a Difference charity which is based in Trident House, the mental health drop in centre, in Taylor Sq. Tavistock.
The main aim of Trident House is to offer a safe place for local people in a friendly and non judgmental environment. They currently offer a wide range of activities and are supported by local people who are volunteers and tutors.
Following a break for tea, normal business was then undertaken. Several items were discussed including the annual ‘Stir Up Saturday’ event and ideas for our 2018 social programme. This month’s raffle prize of a £10 voucher for Crebers was won by Liz Heaton.
The next meeting at the Hall will be on Monday 6th November at 7:30pm when we will be having a talk on Caribbean Cookery from Alison Gribble.
